  2. @Shawn I think you can only have one mindset at a time because it is one or the other. Growth and fixed mindsets are opposites so it is hard to have both.

  3. @Shawn I think the best way to avoid a fixed mindset is to have a reason to grow and get better. Once you want to grow you will have a growth mindset.

  4. @Colby I don't think Carol Dweck needed to change her mindset. It seems that as she was introduced to the growth mindset, she didn't need to change herself. The way that she talks about her past before she found the growth mindset suggests it didn't take her long to change.

  5. @Will To change your mindset, I think most of it is just the way you process things in your life. I think that in order to change your mindset, your entire approach to things that are happening in your life needs to be altered to the growth mindset.

  6. @class Do you think maybe some people were born with the inability to fully change their entire mindset? Are some people just positioned with one mindset and they have no way of trying to change it?

  7. @george caulkins I disagree that having a growth mindset is purely thinking good of things. I don't think having a growth mindset is just thinking everything is good. To push further and do better, there needs to be fear involved. There needs to be hardships that test a person's abilities. I also agree that having a positive attitude contributes as well.

  8. @shawn I think a person can only have one mindset. Someone can't have multiple mindsets, only a fixed mindset or growth mindset.

  9. @Jacob, I think you can develop your mindset as you grow because depending on where you grow up, your parents act differently about your school work and extra circular activities. If your parents are strict, you might try to achieve higher grades and have a growth mindset to please your parents.

  10. @Smith, I believe if you think of failure as a learning opportunity, you have a growth mindset. If you give up after you fail and stop trying, you have a fixed mindset. Also with Self-esteem, if you think poorly about yourself, you will most likely not try as hard as if you thought you were number one.

  11. @colton, I agree that there are more than 2 mindsets. For the 7 billion people on this earth, no 2 are exactly the same. I think there are different types of of growth and fixed mindsets.
